Sometimes the audio you need is not online yet: a meeting, a lecture, an interview or a voice note. BossyScript can record it in the browser with your microphone and transcribe it in the same workspace, so nothing has to be exported or re-uploaded.
The recorder stays simple on purpose. You can pause and resume while you record, and on Unlimited you can also ask BossyScript to label who is speaking.
Step by step

Open the recorder
In your workspace choose Transcribe, then select the Record tab. Allow microphone access when your browser asks; the recording happens locally and only the finished clip is uploaded.

Start, pause and resume
Press Space or Start recording to begin. Press Space again to pause, and once more to resume. The timer shows how long you have recorded so far.

Stop and transcribe
When you are done, choose Stop and transcribe. BossyScript finishes the clip, uploads it and starts the transcription automatically.
Recording tips for cleaner text
Speak close to the microphone, avoid background noise and keep one person talking at a time. Clear, steady speech gives the model far less to guess at, which means fewer names and numbers to correct afterwards.
Identifying speakers on Unlimited
With an Unlimited plan, tick Identify speakers before you stop the recording. BossyScript then labels each voice in a separate view of the transcript. It works best with distinct voices, and if separation is not possible you still get the full text.
What happens to your recording
The clip is uploaded only to create your transcript and stays private to your account. Transcripts are kept for 30 days by default, so download or export anything you want to keep before it expires.
Common questions
Do I need a microphone to record?
Yes. BossyScript uses your device microphone through the browser, so any built-in or external microphone works after you grant permission.
Can I pause in the middle of a recording?
Yes. Press Space to pause and Space again to resume. The paused time is not part of the final clip.
Is speaker separation available while recording?
On Unlimited you can turn on Identify speakers for a recording, just like for an uploaded file. The Free plan records and transcribes without speaker labels.
